Needs From: Mentoring Partnership

The Tipp City Public Library is hosting a community Halloween Party, and we need friendly, reliable volunteers to help make it a safe and fun experience for families!

As a Halloween Party Support Volunteer, you will assist with event setup, activity support, and cleanup.

We need hot meals prepared, delivered and served to our Skate Church nights. This is a great project for a small group or family. Please provide enough food for 40-50 people and be prepared for 2-3 people to stay and serve it if possible!

Meals are served at approximately 6:45/7pm right after a short message & prayer. We provide plates, bowls, napkins, utensils & cups. We also have several serving spoons/tongs available. 

We do not have an oven to keep things warm; there are power outlets available.

Popular choices include crock pot meals/casseroles etc. It can be simple! These hungry skaters aren't too picky.

About the Program: The Miami County ESC works closely with Individualized Education Program (IEP) teams from area school districts to provide a specialized learning environment for students (Kindergarten through 12th grade) at the Cooperative Learning Center. Along with academic instruction, students attending this school focus on building positive social skills, emotional regulation/coping skills, and increased communication. Instruction is available for students that require modified curriculum (aligned with Ohio’s extended content standards). Also, students have the opportunity for vocational and functional life skills training. Our staff partners with families and outside agencies to provide comprehensive support to students as they work toward their individual goals.

The Mentoring Partnership needs you!

Come volunteer with us as we do indirect support for the youth in our county! Be a champion at your business, church, or other organization and help us recruit more volunteers and mentors to the essential youth facing nonprofits in our community! Maybe you rock social media? If you do, that could be a huge help to getting the need out.

Come volunteer with the good people at The Barn Youth Center! It's the place to be on Friday nights! If it's cold, there's basketball and ping pong. You could play a card game or just hang with some good friends. If it's warm, there's soccer and a skatepark. You can enjoy time in the sun or sit back in the shade with some buddies. Whatever the season, the Barn has got you covered with all kinds of activities to partake in! 

Join the fun youth at the barn and help be a positive role model they can look up to, or the smiling face that greets them on a Friday night! 

The Piqua Munch Bunch needs volunteers like you to help bag, organize, and deliver food to Piqua City School children! They have a goal to feed 1000 people each week through their food delivery!

Connect with us and we can get a time for you to come by and find a way to get you plugged in. We always need people to be a smiling face when the kids show up, that could be you! 

Young Life in Miami Valley is looking for Christ centered volunteers to hang out with young adults in Miami County! There are plenty of meeting options and ways to get involved from encouraging them at track meets and basketball games, to weekly Bible studies, and more! 

Were you in Young Life as a teen? Want to give back? This is a great opportunity to show up and make a difference right here in Miami County! 

Unsure if you want to commit? That's OK too! You can reach out and come get a glimpse of what Young Life does and decide from there. It's a great time of fun, energy, and gathering together! 

Volunteers are needed to help with all aspects of the YMCA! We have openings in the Robinson branch (Troy/Tipp area) and Piqua branch. Want to help coach a sports team? Maybe you have time to hang with students in the Activity Center in Piqua? There is always indirect youth impact positions as well; like greeting people at the desk.

The Future Begins Today is looking for adults to join the Lunch Buddies program. This is a fun time where you can come and eat lunch with a student and be a friend to them at one of the local schools! 

Depending on application date, application may be considered for the following school year instead of the current one. 

The Clubhouse is looking for volunteers for their after school and summer tutoring programs! Teens in 7-12 grade volunteer to tutor and mentor children in 2-6 grade, who have limited opportunities. At Clubhouse, teens help build life skills, and confidence in a child’s ability!

For this to happen the Clubhouse needs adults to come out and volunteer and help! A positive adult role model can help impact both a teen and a child and allow for continued operation of these amazing programs!

We are looking for adults 21 years old or older to commit to 1 year of mentoring a child. This involves around 4-6 hours of time every month. Adults must have a valid drivers license with less than 6 points and pass an FBI/BCI background check. 

Big Brothers Big Sisters Miami Valley makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers and youth, ages 6 through 18, right here in Miami County. This is 1 on 1 mentoring at it's finest, all thanks to people like you! 

Calling all skateboarders! If you even just skateboarded as a kid or many many moons ago, that's OK!

We are looking for fun, upbeat adults to come and hangout and be positive role models for these young adults. Can't skateboard anymore, no problem! Skaters love for people to take videos of them landing sick tricks! You could be that person!
